I often long for the warmth of the sun hitting my face, the sound of the seagulls overhead, and the warm water flowing over my sand-buried feet. Though the beauty of southwest Virginia is majestic, the beach is what inspires me, brings me peace, and makes me feel new again. It often seems just out of grasp, so Mountain Beach Bum was created as my way of bringing the ocean breeze to the mountains.

 

At first it was just a fun place on Facebook to talk about my love for the beach, but then it grew into something more. With the help of a local graphic designer, the Mountain Beach Bum logo was created. The  "M" is designed as half-mountain and half-wave. You may notice that the "A" and the "C" in "Beach" are close together. Those letters represent the first letters of our two boys' names so those look a little different because we wanted them to stand out. They are the reason MBB was created - it's all for them! 

 

I enjoy writing and coming up with the phrases and quotes that are used, or will be used, on Mountain Beach Bum products. My wife helps with the designing, ordering and the details.  Our oldest son loves preparing orders for delivery with us and likes to pass along his ideas to us too. It's only a matter of time until our littlest one is in the mix. It's truly a family business!
